Calculate How Many Snow Guards Are Needed
Before family-owned and operated Alpine SnowGuards and sister company EcoFasten Solar were born, the company founder was a roofer who worked in the slate roofing industry as the owner of Vermont Slate and Copper Services (VSCS).
As VSCS grew, the company began seeking alternative business ventures in order to make the most of the expertise and capabilities that had been learned in the roofing industry. In 1998, VSCS began manufacturing snow guards on a full-time basis, and so too began the company known as Alpine SnowGuards. They design, engineer and manufacture snow management systems from their facility in Morrisville, Vermont. Alpine SnowGuards takes pride in the fact that they value doing the right thing as opposed to the easy thing. They educate their customers so they purchase only the products they need and foster a culture of idea-sharing, innovation and creativity.
Snow guards are rooftop devices that allow snow and ice to drop off in small amounts or allow snow and ice to melt completely before falling to the ground. The installation of snow guards prevents the sudden release of snow and ice from a roof, which is known as a roof avalanche. A roof avalanche can cause damage to people, pets, cars, landscaping, gutters, plumbing vents, lower roof areas, skylights and anything else that might be in the immediate area below your roof. Snow guards have been around for hundreds of years and have historically been used on slate, tile and metal roofs. The first snow guards were actually limbs that were attached to the eaves of a roof, with rocks placed atop the limbs, to hold the snow back.
Alpine SnowGuards offers many snow guard options for all shingle roof types (slate, synthetic slate, shake, composition and metal shingle), all metal roof types (standing-seam, corrugated metal, and through-fastened roofs), and low-friction, sloped roofs.
All of our snow guards are tested extensively in the field by roofing experts and are made in the USA using recycled materials. Alpine SnowGuards offers a broad range of rooftop snow management solutions that can help a building qualify for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) credits through the U.S. Green Buildings Council (USGBC®). When choosing what snow guard style is right for you, you should evaluate your roofing material, roof style, roof pitch, snow load (based on geographical location) and your aesthetics preference (pad-style, pipe-style or fence-style). Alpine has an online project calculator for pad and pipe style snow guards. Click the link below to get started.
Ace Clamp is a product of PMC Industries, Inc. Committed to quality since 1923, their 55,000 square foot facility manufactures and sells high quality machined parts, injection molded high volume production, molding, and bonding of thermoplastic, Teflon®, and rubber. Some products recently developed include our patented AceClamp®, a non-penetrating solution for solar panels, satellite dishes and snow retention devices for standing seam metal roofs.
Ace Clamp manufactures both snow bar and snow rails for metal roof. They also offer bolt down and screw down systems for Membrane, Asphalt, Tile, and Slate roofing. AceClamp® systems also help stop falling ice with ice guard attachments, which are screwed to the rail or snapped into place on new easy-to-install Color Snap® product. The innovative, sliding-pin clamp design of their flagship A2® product secures the panel without traditional set screws. This system exceeds attachment standards, while also preserving the panel finish from rotational forces and sharp edges that have been shown to be the cause of certain types of damage that can become a nightmare to contractors, such as pierced panels and rust staining. The unique manufactured tapered edge of the pins offer the same level of attachment confidence while also providing the very best protection from installation damage.
A2 series snow guards were designed to make a contractors life easier and more profitable.
Snow guards are now available in over 180 powder-coat finishes!
